Maceo Baptist Church of Maceo, Kentucky seeks a full-time Pastor for our small, conservative church (active worship averages around 100+ on Sunday mornings) following the sudden loss of our Shepherd of 32+ years. The man God has chosen for us will be responsible for leading the church body in functioning as a New Testament Church as well as be responsible for providing spiritual instruction and leadership to our members, staff and ministries of the church. To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in active pastoral care, provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life and function, supervise church staff and conduct the ordinances and functions of worship.
•Plan and conduct worship services, developing sermons, and leads in the observance of ordinances.
•Lead the congregation in effective programs to fulfill the Great Commission with vision, purpose and priority under the biblical principles found in the Baptist Faith and Message and guidance of the Holy Spirit and his Deacons.
•Lead and demonstrate effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ.
•Visit and minister to members and prospective members in homes, nursing care facilities and hospitals.
•Conduct counseling sessions, wedding ceremonies meeting church guidelines, and conduct funeral services.
•Work with his Deacons and other key leadership to carry out the mission and purpose of the church.
•Cooperate with association, state and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern
understanding Maceo is a church that places a strong emphasis on missions.
•Serve as administrator of church staff supervising and evaluating the tasks assigned to each.
•Serve to recommend and advise committees and teams as an ex-officio member.
•Oversees along with his Deacons, all church discipline matters and the management of conflict issues in the church
through the work of the church personnel committee.
•Communicate with the congregation through articles or announcements, written and spoken using church bulletins
and the regularly scheduled worship services on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening.
•Give full support biblically to the church budget.
•Adhere to the Church Bylaws and Policies and Procedures, adopted by the church body under our strict adherence to the Baptist faith and Message, understanding that Maceo Baptist Church believes:
oThe Bible to be God’s inspired Word. oWe believe in the virgin birth of Jesus and that He is the son of God. oWe believe in His payment for our sins by His death upon the cross. oWe believe in His physical resurrection and that He will return as King of Kings. oWe believe in believer’s baptism by immersion.
•Maintain a vital and wholesome personal relationship with the Lord through daily Bible study and prayer.
•Maintain proper priorities at home with his wife and children.
